Processing Plants


HB Grandi operates groundfish processing plants in Reykjavík and Akranes. Great emphasis is placed on processing IQF fillets and fillet portions of redfish, cod and saithe. The company also produces fresh, chilled fillets that are air-lifted the same day to the European market. The buyer can be sure of top quality as all fish are processed quickly and safely, using the best available methods at each step.

The company maintains strict quality control. Samples are taken of the fish before processing. Handling is assessed at each step, from the time the fish comes on board until it is delivered to the buyer. HB Grandi has an internal inspection system that fully meets HACCP standards and has received certifications from International Food Standards. All premises and equipment are maintained in accordance with regulations and the strictest demands of the food market.
