HB Grandi’s wetfish and freezer trawlers catch cod all around Iceland throughout the year.
The company’s freezer trawlers process interleaved and IQF cod fillets. Both mean superb cod that goes straight to the restaurant market or to shops.
On board the wetfish trawlers the cod is pre-cooled and iced in tubs until it is landed at the company’s processing plants. The catch is processed either as loins or back-fillets. HB Grandi focuses on the sale of fresh, chilled cod-loins that are air-lifted the same day to the European market.
