Saithe is caught by the company’s wetfish and freezer trawlers in the fishing grounds all round Iceland, especially in winter, spring and summer. The main fishing grounds are south and west of Iceland.
On board the freezer trawlers the saithe is filleted and interleaved.
On board the wetfish trawlers, the saithe is pre-cooled and iced in tubs until it is landed at the company’s processing plants. There it is processed into loins, center cuts and tails that are IQF frozen.
