Ninth year at Brussels
The European Seafood Exposition (ESE) and Seafood Processing Europe (SPE) events will be opened formally in Brussels next week and they are held from the 23rd to the 25th of April. It’s accepted by everyone in the industry that this is the premier event of its kind anywhere in the world. Many Icelandic companies have made a habit of attending the Brussels ESE, among then HB Grandi, which will this year be attending for the ninth year in a row to display and promote products under its own brand.
According to marketing manager Svavar Svavarsson, the Brussels ESE is the annual high point of the company’s marketing and promotion initiatives. Last year HB Grandi took fifteen staff to Brussels for the ESE, and this year there will be a larger group with over twenty staff manning the stand for the three days in Brussels.
‘The Brussels ESE is a prime opportunity for us to meet all of our major clients and to give ourselves time to talk to them. Experience also shows that the event is a fine opportunity to meet representatives of companies that we haven’t yet done business with and to establish a basis that we can work on together. We will be there at our stand (839-1) in Hall 6, as part of the area that Promote Iceland has available. The agenda will be much as usual, but one difference is that we will be displaying on our stand the artwork by glass artist Sigrún Einarsdóttir that was the award for that HB Grandi received for the 2013 President of Iceland’s Award for Export Achievement,’ Svavar Svavarsson said.
Last year producers from more than seventy countries took part in the Brussels ESE. According to the event’s own website, some 25,600 buyers, producers, suppliers and media people from more than 140 countries attended the event.
